Twenty One Pilots announce Auckland show

In the wake of their wildly successful 2015 headline tour, American alt-pop duo TWENTY ONE PILOTS will return to Auckland for their biggest New Zealand headline show yet.

Twenty One Pilots

Twenty One Pilots have grown astronomically since the release of their self-titled LP and albums Vessel in 2013 and US #1 Blurryface in 2015. Rapidly graduating from club shows to main stage festival appearances, last year’s Blurryface Tour sold out and 2016 is seeing the band selling out arenas across the US.

Currently winding up a string of sold-out European dates, Twenty One Pilots return to New Zealand for one all ages concert, then head to Australia for all-ages shows in April – May, and performances at Groovin’ the Moo.

Tickets go on sale at midday on Friday February 26.

Spark customers will be able to access a special pre-sale commencing midday this Monday, February 22.

My Live Nation members can also be among the first to secure tickets during the pre-sale from 2pm Wednesday, February 24.

In 2014 Twenty One Pilots’ Quiet is Violent Tour played an electrifying run of sold-out shows in support of their latest album, Blurryface (out now through Warner Music Australia). Peaking at #11 on the ARIA Albums Chart, Blurryface has sold more than 1,500,000 copies worldwide – hitting #1 on the US Billboard Top 200.

Now the band return with ‘Stressed Out’, one of their most intensely personal singles to date. Quickly achieving platinum status in the US and currently residing at #11 on the NZ Singles Chart, ‘Stressed Out’ has already been streamed more than 130 million times through Spotify; its music video viewed more than 80 million. Like much of the pair’s catalogue, the single explores the existential airlock between adolescence and adulthood – a period defined by pressures old and new.

“Twenty One Pilots are undeniably huge” – Beat, 2015

“These guys have created a community of faithful followers who between them create this infectious energy — if you could bottle it, Red Bull would be out of business” – The Music, 2015

“The energy between the band and the crowd is electric, feeding each other and radiating positive vibes”
– Amnplify, 2015
