Ty Dolla $ign announces first New Zealand dates for Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland

Ty Dolla $ign is one of the hottest acts in music right now and in just a few short weeks he’s bringing his Campaign tour to New Zealand, with special guests US rapper Kent Jones* and Auckland collective SWIDT*.

The hip-hop sensation has already sold out his Sydney gig and with limited space at his others, Kiwi fans are urged to get in quickly for tickets to his shows in Wellington on January 31Christchurch on February 1 and Auckland on February 2 – presented by Mai FMDouble Block and Urban Touring.

Since featuring on YG’s 2010 smash, ‘Toot It and Boot It’Ty Dolla $ign has fast become one of hip-hop’s most highly demanded collaborators and solo artists.

The GRAMMY® Award-nominated singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist had two of 2014’s biggest songs, ‘Paranoid’ featuring B.o.B and ‘Or Nah featuring Wiz Khalifa, from his Beach House EP.  His much anticipated and debut album, FREE TC was released to critical acclaim in November 2015, garnering mention in a number of year-end lists including Rolling Stone’s, 20 Best R&B Albums of 2015 and NPR Music’s, 50 Favourite Albums of 2015.

His latest offering, CAMPAIGN, features appearances by Future, Travis Scott, Meek Mill, Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz, Migos and more.

Along with his multi-platinum solo career, Ty Dolla $ign remains among one of the most popular featured artists of the last decade, working with the biggest names in the industry, from Fifth Harmony’s Teen Choice & MTV Video Music Award-winning chartbuster ‘Work From Home’ (Feat. Ty Dolla $ign), to Kanye West’s ‘Fade’ and ‘Real Friends’Nick Jonas’ ‘Bacon’,  Afrojack’s ‘Gone’Chance the Rapper’s ‘Blessings (Reprise)’,  Rihanna’s ‘FourFiveSeconds’ (with Kanye West & Paul McCartney) and of course, ‘Sucker For Pain’ by Lil Wayne, Wiz Khalifa & Imagine Dragons with Logic and Ty Dolla $ign (Feat. X Ambassadors).

Joining Ty Dolla $ign on his first New Zealand visit is Kent Jones (Auckland and Christchurch shows only), who earned his cred as a producer before taking his music to the masses. Jones’ single ‘Don’t Mind’ was one of the biggest hits of 2016, rising into the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, hitting number #1 on the Rap charts and surpassing over 162 million streams and counting.

And representing homegrown hip-hop is Auckland’s very own SWIDT (See What I Did There). The critically acclaimed five piece from Onehunga will open the shows in Christchurch and Auckland. Fellow Aucklander Jess B+ will also appear at the Auckland show. Mai fm’s DJ Sir-Vere will be a special guest at all New Zealand shows.
