Rod Stewart announces Auckland date for 2023 The Hits! New Zealand Tour

Sir Rod Stewart returns to New Zealand in April on The Hit’s tour. In addition to shows in Dunedin and Napier, due to popular demand Live Nation is thrilled to announce Rod Stewart will also perform at AUCKLAND’S SPARK ARENA, on Sunday, April 9.

Tickets to the newly announced Auckland show will go on sale 10.00am, Friday March 3.

My Live Nation members can secure tickets to the Auckland concert during a pre-sale commencing 11am, Thursday, March 2. 

A portion of the Spark Arena concert proceeds will be donated to support New Zealand disaster relief charities.

Live Nation will continue to monitor the recovery efforts in Hawke’s Bay and we are working towards the Rod Stewart with Cyndi Lauper date at Mission Estate on Saturday, April 8 proceeding as scheduled.

Following the incredible success and rave reviews for their U.S. tours in 2017 and 2018, Stewart has invited the incomparable Cyndi Lauper to join him as the tour’s special guest for all shows.

Continuing his iconic reign, Sir Rod Stewart will charm South Island fans with a spectacular show at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on Wednesday, April 5, followed by the renowned Mission Estate Winery on Saturday, April 8. Sir Rod’s third and final New Zealand concert will be at Auckland’s Spark Arena Sunday, April 9.

Returning home to open for both shows on the tour is acclaimed New Zealand rock singer Jon Stevens. Stevens, as frontman for Noiseworks, was part of four Top 10 albums and 12 Top 50 singles, including the classics ‘No Lies’, ‘Take Me Back’, ‘Touch’and ‘Hot Chilli Woman’. He then fronted INXS for more than three years, which included a gig at the Sydney Olympics’ closing ceremony. Stevens grew up listening to Sir Rod Stewart, and his 2011 album Testify! included a cover of ‘Open To Ideas’, co-written by Rod Stewart and one of the last songs the Faces recorded.
