Rising pop stars Sheppard: new single and interview

If you were at Auckland’s Mt Smart stadium last year to see Justin Bieber you may have caught opening act Australian pop band Sheppard. They play catchy melodic pop, and with five years performing and two recorded albums under their belt, they’re ready to launch a new album in 2018. The first single from that album is “Coming Home” and it’s just been picked up by several Kiwi radio stations. The band features three siblings Sheppard, and one of them, songwriter vocalist and keyboardist Amy, has just been in Auckland on a promotional tour. Amy’s the one with the blue/green hair in the photo.

Simon caught up with Amy for a chat  about the band’s beginnings, their musical influences, and where they’re heading next. Also click on the link below to check out the new single “Coming Home,” which has now been certified gold in Australia, as well as reaching Number 1 in the Australian iTunes Indie Chart and ranking as the second most played song on Australian radio in November, ahead even of Harry Styles and Taylor Swift.
